Gorge & Mt. Hood Caches
Dominating the Eastern horizon, Mt. Hood rises
from the landscape just 50 miles from downtown Portland. Forested mountain slopes,
lakes and streams cover a large expanse of land extending south from the Columbia River
to the Northern slopes of Mt. Jefferson 60 miles away.
The Columbia River Gorge is the nations only
National Scenic Area, and is an awesome river canyon cut through the Cascade Mountain Range.
Run off from the slopes of Mt. Hood has created fantastic cliffs and ledges, and a large
concentration of spectacular waterfalls.
Both areas are great destinations, and offer a myriad number of tourist opportunities,
recreational activities, backwoods camping, and of course - geoaching. We have Listed below
